received an email from Nicole this morning telling us she made it into ‘Australian Marketing Magazine’ , and most probably the Golgafrincham Ark Fleet. Ship B. Hold Seven.
Not a hectic day today again. Spent the morning in the class room correcting exercises. This afternoon we learnt to use a hydraulic bending machine to bend steel and to make a thread.
got the dual core satellite conduit secured to the wall and roof rafters nice and tidily now , amazing how much easier a job is when you have all the right tools.
tidied up filenames of some Essential Mixes , created new rsync + ssh mirroring script for mp3 library , tested with a –dry-run , now performing a backup.
slightly disappointed with ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ , the first PC he uses is a Dell running Windows Vista - is there any hope for mankind now ?
Today we started to work. We took off the wall what the previous group installed. It looked like a boiler installation with black steel, copper. We unscrewed all the bits and cleaned them and cut the copper and steel.
backing up the core4 fileserver , this time the external 500gb drives are connected to my core6 workstation and I am using rsync over ssh to transfer the data.
I have been driving all morning. First to Montmorillon to the ASSEDIC (dole) to get registered and then to Civray to the job centre to validate the registration. France is a nation of paper work and we love it !!!!!!!!
I placed a bid on ebay for some wool yesterday but I didn’t get it. Nevermind, there is another lot going on in a couple of days that interest me more.
this gigabyte ga-ma69vm-s2 has two pci slots but they are quite close together and I am a bit worried about the two hauppauge nexus cards overheating , so I have added a fan to the case lid which is sucking out some of the heat
installed replacement dvb-s card , setup in mythtv with 4 transponders for each card (8 recordings at once!), testing with two simultaneous recordings and it looks like its working.
The pond has dried out but there is still a puddle and I noticed there were baby fish in it struggling so we added some water from our water containers. They looked happy

a good productive day today and i’m tired now , got the bedroom lights all wired together , a double network cable dropped down from loft to downstairs area as well as hot water pipe fitted.
We are borrowing my brother’s machine to pulse the insulation instead of hiring Reseaux Pro’s one so we don’t have the choice but finishing the cabling in the loft
had to pop into town to get a few more things for the loft , we should be finished later today so that the insulation can go down tomorrow. Gaston is hassling us to get on with it.
checking the loft for any missing / forgotten plumbing. I need to get the solar tank hot pipe down into the house and also a cold mains water up to the solar tank.
excellent - time to break out the new powerdrill again and concrete smashing chisel.
the ‘Mr & Mrs Smith’ film reminded me I hadn’t heard from colin for a good while , gave him a call and had a nice hour-long chat with the old smackdab @dino3004
